Disney Pictures has recently unveiled the first trailer for Ice Age 6: Lava Crisis. Slated for a global release on February 5, 2027, this film is a brand-new installment of the franchise after a ten-year gap. It continues the adventures of Manny the mammoth, Sid the sloth and Diego the saber-toothed tiger, and will explore the mysterious "Lost World" for the first time.
In the trailer, Manny, Diego, Sid, Ellie, Buck and their friends are sent flying by a volcanic eruption, only to be swept into an explosive new journey deep into the uncharted parts of the Lost World. This new adventure is filled with volcanoes, lava and dinosaurs, along with plenty of prehistoric slapstick fun. Since the first film hit theaters in 2002, the franchise has depicted melting glaciers, continental drift and even an asteroid impact. Now, the story shifts to a scorching new setting.
The original voice cast all return: Ray Romano voices Manny, Denis Leary as Diego, John Leguizamo as Sid, Simon Pegg as Buck, and Queen Latifah as Ellie. Also coming back are Crash, Eddie, Baby Scrat, and everyone's favorite acorn-obsessed Scrat.
Directed by John Donkin, who previously helmed The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild, this feature is the first theatrical full-length film in the Ice Age franchise following the Disney-Fox acquisition in 2019, as well as the first new feature released after the shutdown of Blue Sky Studios.
